Agios Sostis

The village

A small vacation colony directly opposite the tiny rock cliff island that was separated from the coast by the earthquake in 1633. The colony is only a stone’s throw away from Laganas but has developed its own particular flair. Maybe it is due to the picturesque fishing port or to the nice taverns that have settled above on the coast – or to the different tourist attractions along the coastal road. The back country is one huge olive grove that can be explored via its many small roads and byways. Agios Sostis is located in the Gulf of Laganas, a nature reserve dedicated to the famous water turtle, Caretta caretta, and it lies approximately 10 kilometers away from the airport. The village has everything a tourist would need. If you want to enjoy life away from the bustling centers of tourism – this is where you should go.

Special attractions

The rock cliff island that gave this village its name. In daytime, you come here to have your coffee or tea – in the evenings you can go dancing right out over the water: on one side to sounds of rock and rap and on the other to the sounds of the bouzouki.
